More Khunda is a town in Punjab, Pakistan. The town is known for its rice market. The town has a banquet hall called the Marahaba. Within the town, Mangtanwala village has fertile land and rich from rice and wheat crops. Sir Ganga Ram was born in this village. It has a traditional design of mosque. There are two large mosques at More Khunda, a stone’s throw from each other. One has an exceptionally high minaret that dominates this town’s skyline. The green Dawat-e-Islami flags flutter atop every other building and religious sermons blare from a speaker installed on a bicycle parked at a busy junction. There is an Imambargah across the road as well that organises the 10-day mourning in Moharram, complete with a zuljinna. There were, however, no signs of strife or tense relations between the believers of various sects and schools. The previous MPA from the constituency, PP 173 Nankana Sahib 4, was a Shia and he could not win on the Shia vote alone. This is the evidence that the locals offer in support of the harmony that they claim to be living in. Mahr Kashif Rang Elahi Padhyar MPA-173 PML(N) is an experienced educationist and young politician who is serving the people of the area truly and is earning a matchless name amongst other politicians in District Nankana.The main peculiarity that distinguishes him from his other political fellows is that he emphasizes on health , education and rural development plan rather than the traditional and uncultured politics. Many schools and colleges are opened in More Khunda. These include Country Model School(a sole purpose built campus with all basic facilities)is one of the largest institutions in District Nankana Sahib. It is inaugurated by its director Mahr Ahmad Ali Padhyar ( MA English PU ) in March,2010.To get rid of the load-shedding evil, CMS is the first institution in the area which installed a largest Solar Unit that works uninterruptedly to facilitate the kids and staff.CMS also aims to launch a GIRLS COLLEGE in March, 2016 that will be the first institution only for girls in More Khunda. International Islamic Spiritual School of Naqshbandia, Dar-e-Arqam High Schools (An English Medium country-wide group) (In other English Medium schools, Chief English Grammar School is also making progress now a days. G/H/S/School More Khunda., Al-Suffah Public High School (English Medium) But when the founder of the school Sir Shafiq left the school, the school become a part of Iqra Model school. There are many baradries and casts in the area but Padhyar ,Sheikh, Arayn,Chader, Bhatti, Gill and Mughals(mistry) are more prominent in the area.
